The Crushing Plant at The Rasp Mine

Working on securing stable supplies of raw materials necessary for our smelting business

In 2010, TOHO ZINC acquired CBH Resources Limited (“CBH”), which operated zinc and lead mines in Australia. For more than a decade since then, CBH has contributed significantly to the stable supplies of raw material for our smelting business. Since TOHO ZINC decided to withdraw from the mining business as its new management strategy in 2024, we have been progressively taking steps to exit from the projects CBH managed and operated over the period.

Overview of CBH Resources

CBH had been operating Rasp zinc/lead mine and Endeavor zinc/lead mine in New South Wales. Under TOHO ZINC's new management strategy, we completed divestments of Endeavor mine in July 2024 and Rasp mine in October 2024. Abra lead mine in Western Australia (Toho holds 40% interest) commenced production in January 2023 but it is currently under the voluntary administration.
