Characteristics
High purity iron has high ductility, and can be rolled into ultra thin foils. High purity iron foils are made by rolling electrolytic iron, "MAIRON-SHP·UHP". Our iron foils have excellent corosion resistance and magnectic characteristics because of extreamly small amount of impurities. Furthermore good mechanical properties such as formability can be obtained.

Properties (Corrosion resistance, Sheet resistance, Tensile strength)
The following figure shows comparasion of corrision rate in sulfuric acid. UHP foil (5N) and SHP foil (4N) have superior corrosion resistance compared to SPCC and SUY foil (2N). SHP foil also has almost the same corrosion resistance as UHP foil.
The following table shows sheet resistance of metal foils. SHP and UHP foil have low sheet resistance.

High purity iron foils have better formabilty than stainless steel and carbon steel. The following table shows tensile strength and elongation for SHP foil depending on thickness and heat treatment.
